Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 releases on October 21
During the Gamescom Opening Night Live 2025 presentation, publisher Paradox Interactive and developer The Chinese Room announced that Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 will launch on October 21 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam, Epic, GOG).
The sequel to a cult classic RPG was originally announced in March 2019 in development at Hardsuit Labs. Following several delays and organizational changes, the game was rebooted and re-announced in 2023, now developed by The Chinese Room. The new version of the long-in-development sequel has seen several Developer Diary updates this year, showcasing components such as combat, social systems, mortals, and Hunters.
In addition to the release date, Paradox has also unveiled special editions for the game. A $70 Deluxe Edition includes cosmetic items based on the original Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines, while a $90 Premium Edition includes two additional Vampire clan classes for protagonist Phyre in the Lasombra or Toreador clans. Pre-orders of any version will net players a 'Bloodlines Nostalgia Jukebox', which plays curated tracks from the original Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines.

They also announced that players will experience parts of the game’s narrative as Fabien, the mysterious Malkvian detective and voice inside Phyre’s mind. Together, the Kindred solve a neo-noir murder mystery that threatens to alter modern Seattle’s vampire society. Players can pre-order Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 today on Steam, GOG, Epic Games Store, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5 for a suggested retail price of $59.99/£49.99/€59.99. Those who pre-order Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 will receive the Bloodlines Nostalgia Jukebox, a Haven decor item featuring a curated playlist of in-game music by iconic composer of the original Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines, Rik Schaffer.
Alongside the release date, the digital Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 Deluxe Edition and Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 Premium Edition were announced. Pre-orders for the Deluxe Edition (SRP $69.99/£58.50/€69.99) and the Premium Edition (SRP $89.99/£74.99/€89.99) are now available on Steam, GOG, Epic Games Store, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5.

Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 players will experience the game's narrative through two alternating playable characters: Elder vampire Phyre and Malkavian detective Fabien. After centuries of torpor, a deep state of vampiric slumber, Phyre awakens in modern-day Seattle with a mysterious mark that has locked away their Elder abilities and Fabien’s voice echoing in their head. As Phyre, players meet the city’s ruling Kindred vampires, each with their own motivations, and uncover Seattle’s dark secrets while reclaiming their lost vampiric powers.
Between nights, as Phyre rests, dreams and voices from Fabien's past take hold. Emerging as Fabien, players enter a neo-noir 1920s Seattle and use his Malkavian abilities to unravel the mystery behind his murder. Solving the case proves challenging, as Fabien's fractured perception of reality, a trait of his Malkavian blood, makes it difficult to distinguish fact from fiction.
Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 is the successor to the cult-classic Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines (2004). Bloodlines 2 plunges players into Seattle's dark underbelly, where vampires struggle for survival and supremacy. Players meet compelling characters, navigate complex political relationships, stalk the city streets for prey, and engage in intense combat while balancing their thirst for mortal blood.
The base game includes four clans, each with its own distinct playstyles, outfits, and Disciplines: the rebellious Brujah, blood sorcery masters Tremere, justice-driven Banu Haqim, and the persuasive Ventrue. Players must remain mindful of their surroundings or risk breaking the Masquerade – the absolute law of secrecy that keeps vampire society hidden from humanity.
