Bandai Namco details "What's New" in Tales of Xillia Remastered, including improvements, DLC, and other additions

Bandai Namco Entertainment has posted a dedicated "What's New" page for Tales of Xillia Remastered, following its announcement yesterday, going over the additions, improvements, and changes. 

Yesterday, alongside Tales of Xillia Remastered's announcement, we learned that it will be 4K 60 on PS5 and Xbox Series X, but will be 720p/1080p 30fps on Nintendo Switch. It will support up to 120fps on PC. You can read about the technical details and watch the announcement trailer alongside the producer's message video here. Today, Bandai Namco's new post goes over what new features have been added, the improvements, and also gives us the confirmation that more than 40 of the original game's DLCs will be included. It also mentions that some licensed DLC will not be included.

Tales of Xillia Remastered launches on October 31 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC (Steam) in the West. The console versions will release a day prior in Japan.

Grade Shop Available During First Playthrough

The Grade Shop is available from the start of the first lap of the game with 5000 GRADE to buy out all items.
Purchased effects are automatically set to On, and certain effect can be turned off by selecting the Grade Shop setting from the Options menu.
*Character Levels and other data transfer-related effects are not accessible during the player's first playthrough.

Added 50% off items in the Grade Shop

Added "50% off items" item in the Grade Shop where all items can be purchased at half price.

More than 40 original DLC are available

Various original DLCs are implemented in the game.
There are various content such as the legendary Tales of series character costumes and adventure support items , etc.
*Some licensed DLCs are not included

Autosave Function 

Auto-save at specific times, such as after moving around the map or after an event.

Enemy Encounter Toggle Function (This effect however does not apply to certain Event Battles) 

An Encounter setting has been added to the Options menu. 
Setting Encounters to Off allows you to avoid battles, even when you come into direct contact with enemies.

Retry' Feature for Regular Battles 

If players are defeated in a Regular Battle, they can choose to try again.

Subtitles Available For Battle Scenes 

Subtitles will be displayed when characters use their Mystic Artes during battle, as well as during any post-battle dialogue.
The display settings for subtitles can be changed in the Options menu.

  • Special dialogue during boss battles and tutorial battles
  • Dialogue during battle results
  • Dialogue during Linked Artes
  • Dialogue during Mystic Artes

Dash Toggle Function 

While exploring the overworld, a character's Run can be changed into a much faster Dash with the press of a button. 
Toggling between running and dashing is also possible.
※If you have Winged Boots, your speed will increase further.

Destination Icons 

Main story destinations are indicated by "★" icons on each of the world map (list), location map, mini-map, and field.
The number of remaining distance to the destination is also displayed.
※The display settings for subtitles can be changed in the Options menu.

Added “!” icons for sub-events to the location map and mini map. 

Characters who trigger sub-events when spoken to will display an “!” icon on the location map and mini-map.
Additionally, the destination of the sub-event selected by the player will be displayed with an icon on the world map.
※Sub-events with a limited occurrence period are indicated with an “hourglass” icon instead of an “!” icon. 

Added display of each item on mini-map and location map 

Icons for unacquired "treasure chests," "search bags and search points," and " Aifread's Treasures" have been added to the minimap and location map, in addition to those already acquired.

Added automatic skipping of events 

An “Skip Event” option has been added to the Options menu. When enabled, events that have already been viewed will be automatically skipped.

Skippable Cutscenes and Skits 

Pressing and holding down the Skip Button during cutscenes and Skits will allow you to skip them. 

Added "NEW!" icons to items and Artes when newly acquired or learned. 

NEW!" icons will appear on the menu screen when new items, Artes etc. are acquired or learned, or when new items arrive in the store.

Can move to the top of the Option from any level in the Option 

Pressing the appropriate button in the Option will immediately take you to the top of the Option from any level of the hierarchy. The same applies to the store. 

Added batch selection of bonus materials 

On the material delivery screen of the store development, pressing the appropriate button will select all materials that fall under the bonus materials for that store.

Added differential display of status changes when changing equipment

Simplified selection of items such as treasure chests 

When a treasure chest, search bag, search point, or Aifread's Treasures is within a certain judgment range, "Open" or "Examine" will be displayed, and it is possible to acquire the item even if character is not facing the direction of the item.

Added the ability to switch camera distance on the map 

The camera distance on maps such as fields and dungeons can be changed in three levels (near/normal/far).

Key Binding Customization Features 

Key customization settings are available for map operation as well as battle.

Additional Volume Settings 

All volume settings related to the in-game music, sound effects, voices, and animated cutscenes can be adjusted in the Options menu.

Additional Voice-Over Language Settings 

The game's voice-over language can be changed between English and Japanese in the Options menu.

Correction of typographical errors and omissions 

Some typos and omissions in the text have been corrected. *Japanese only.
