Koei Tecmo Tokyo Game Show 2025 booth will feature Nioh 3 and Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment

Original (25 August)

Koei Tecmo Games have updated their annual Tokyo Game Show webpage with the TGS 2025 edition. The webpage is available not only in Japanese but also English (as well as Traditional Chinese).

The newly updated page shows that there will be three games highlighted in the company's booth, with playable demos also confirmed. Two of them are specifically relevant to us: Nioh 3 and Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment. The third one will be the new action game Ninja Gaiden 4.

Koei Tecmo also plans to publish details about the content available in each demo build, but they will only do so at a later time ahead of the event that will be held on September 25-28. In the meantime, the company also revealed that their merchandise booth will feature goods from their games, with specific focuses on Atelier Yumia, the Atelier Resleriana mobile game, Dynasty Warriors: Origins, and Venus Vacation Prism: Dead or Alive Xtreme.

Out of the two titles in our scope, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment for Nintendo Switch 2 has an earlier release window of "this Winter", which would usually run between December 2025 and February 2026. Nioh 3, meanwhile, has Early 2026 for its launch timeframe on PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam.

Update - 4 September

Koei Tecmo has updated one of their featured title pages specifically for Nioh 3. The full extent of its demo build also reveals more about the full game's scale.

This Nioh 3 demo will have two modes: An Exploration of the Heian Era field and a Boss Battle against Takeda Shingen in the Sengoku Era. Players who can win the latter will also be awarded an exclusive T-shirt while supplies last.

The Heian Era field exploration is big since that adds much more to the new game's scope, since this era was previously only represented in the DLC expansion packs for Nioh 2.

Update - 9 September

Koei Tecmo has today just published most of their stream schedule for Tokyo Game Show 2025. The company will first hold an official primetime stream featuring Nioh 3 on Thursday, September 25, at 20:00 JST (11:00 UTC).

The following day on Friday, September 26, the company will launch their own dedicated live stream at 17:00 JST (08:00 UTC). This one will feature not only Nioh 3 but also other series like Atelier and Dynasty Warriors. But as of this update, there are still two unannounced slots at 17:25 and 19:45, which hint that these are reserved for games that will be revealed ahead of TGS 2025.

Update - 17 September

Yet another update on Koei Tecmo's TGS 2025 webpage has been spotted. The Friday stream schedule was updated with the 19:45 slot newly filled by Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly Remake, which was revealed at the Nintendo Direct.

For the title that's more relevant to us, the demo build page for Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment has also been updated with details. Visitors will be able to check out three playable characters—Zelda, King Rauru, and the latter's elder sister Mineru—in this demo. And after playing it, the staff will hand them a clear file featuring the game's key art while supplies last.
