Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade demo releasing at the end of the year for Xbox and Nintendo Switch 2

Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade will be getting a demo on Xbox and Nintendo Switch 2 ahead of its launch on January 22, 2026 Naoki Hamaguchi from Square Enix confirmed in an interview with Inverse.

This was confirmed in a response to Inverse asking about how confident Naoki Hamaguchi was in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth running well on Switch 2 now that Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade is coming to Switch 2. You can find the relevant part of the response confirming the demo from the interview below:

We put a lot of our development resources into the optimization, and as a result of that, I think it’s a pretty great title that maximizes the Switch 2 specs. Also, I wanted to mention that at the end of the year, a demo is coming out for Switch 2 and Xbox. So players who might still be on the fence or unsure about playing, it’d be great for them to experience [the demo] and feel the full specs of these new consoles.

If you haven't already done so, read my interview with Naoki Hamaguchi going over the upcoming ports, how it feels with the full remake trilogy confirmed to be multi-platform, potential amiibo support, the possibility of an Xbox physical, coffee, and more here.

Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade is now available on PlayStation 5 and PC (Steam and Epic Games Store). It launches on January 22, 2026, for Nintendo Switch 2 and Xbox Series X|S (Play Anywhere). You can wishlist it on Xbox here
