Takiya Iijima will produce and release new RPG titled Oni Zero Cross in 2027
Takiya Iijima has revealed at his Tokyo Game Show 2025 stream that he will produce and release a new RPG titled Oni Zero Cross in 2027. But despite making this as a brand-new entry in the creator's long-running ONI series, it won't have any direct relations to other series entries. Iijima will instead mostly base this game on his 1995 PS1 strategy RPG title: Sengoku Cyber: Fujimaru Jigokuhen.
This new RPG will tell a story of ninjas and warriors in the Japanese Warring States era standing up to fight against powerful Oni monsters. Rengoku Fujimaru, the star of the aforementioned Sengoku Cyber game, will become the protagonist of Oni Zero Cross. Other ninjas who appeared in the 1995 game will also return and play key roles in this game's story.
The live stream in question has its archive available to watch right below, and the announcement is available at the 55:05 mark. While not fully confirmed yet, the stream was hosted on Konami's YouTube channel, which may indicate that Konami will also be the publisher for Oni Zero Cross.
