Dynasty Warriors: Origins for Switch 2 runs at a stable 30fps: Koei Tecmo
Following its reveal during the recent Nintendo Direct, Koei Tecmo has confirmed (via Famitsu) that Dynasty Warriors: Origins for Nintendo Switch 2 will target a stable 30fps rather than reducing the number of characters on screen for 60fps.
The team wants to keep the same feeling of 1 vs 1000 and decided to aim for a stable 30fps instead of cutting things down for a higher frame rate on Nintendo Switch 2. You can find the full translation of the statement from Tomohiko Sho via Famitsu below:
"The Switch 2 version will be fixed to 30 fps, and we are developing it with a priority on stable operations. It's good hardware, and if we reduced the number of soldiers to about the same amount as prior Warriors series entries, we could have gotten it running at 60 fps. Since this game will show a few thousands of characters, I think it would be better if you can play here with a stable 30 fps."

Dynasty Warriors: Origins launched earlier this year on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam worldwide. Read Josh's thoughts on it here. A large-scale DLC is planned for launch on the same day as the Switch 2 version featuring the Yellow Turban Rebellion, Battle of Chibi, and more.
Dynasty Warriors: Origins is now available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam). It launches on January 22, 2026 for Nintendo Switch 2.
