Microsoft announces Game Pass price increases and revamped tiers for PC and Xbox
Ahead of this month's major RPG release from Microsoft with The Outer Worlds 2, the company has announced changes and a big price increase for Xbox Game Pass subscriptions.
These changes include new tiers, price increases to Game Pass Ultimate and also PC Game Pass. With today's change, Game Pass Ultimate will now cost $29.99 per month. This is a steep price increase, even with the new additions liek Ubisoft+ Classics. The price changes are reflected in the image shared by Xbox below across three tiers: Game Pass Essential at $9.99 per month, Game Pass Premium at $14.99 per month, and Game Pass Ultimate at $29.99 per month. Only the Ultimate tier includes day one games.

Current Xbox Game Pass Standard tier subscribers will be upgraded to the Premium tier. While not mentioned in the Xbox Wire post, PC Game Pass is now $16.49 a month up from $11.99 a month. There is no addition to this subscription to justify the price increase like with the other tiers. Thanks to The Verge for the heads up on the PC Game Pass price increase. All of these chnages make the current slate of subscriptions even more confusing after the recent change as you can see in what games are included in which tier like in my RPGs on Game Pass feature.
