Gotcha Gotcha Games has been gradually releasing the Heavy Spoilers RPG series on the PC platforms Steam and DLSite. These games notably feature characters whose names already include blatant spoiler hints for the storylines.
The first entry, Heavy Spoilers RPG: The true identity of the final enemy is the hero's father, appeared on Steam for free on June 6. The game originally appeared on Japanese platforms in mid-April 2023, but the Steam release has since also been made available with an English localization.
Gotcha Gotcha Games also noted that this game garnered over 25 million views from its Let's Play videos. Searching this game's title on YouTube does indeed result in gameplay videos from notable Vtubers, with many of them surpassing hundreds of thousands of views, even though the game is made with stock character assets from RPG Maker MV.
The news for this article today is that the company has just released the unrelated sequel, Heavy Spoilers RPG 2: Your best friend is actually the great demon king, also on Steam. While the first entry is free, this one is a paid game. KSB Games held a crowdfunding campaign to produce this title, and they eventually released the Japanese version first on BOOTH last year on December 14.
Even though the Steam page already features English descriptions—including several localized character names, the actual Heavy Spoilers RPG 2 game is still only available in Japanese and Korean as of this launch. Note that other than Steam, KSB Games also simultaneously released the game on DLSite and RPG Maker Official Store (the latter of which will provide Steam keys of the game).
