Star Trek Online launches 2025 Winter Wonderland event with a free Fek'Ihri starship, Moopsy Hoodie

The yearly "Winter Wonderland" event has returned to Star Trek: Online and will run until January 7, 2026, on both PC and console. Players who participate in the event on a daily basis for a portion of the event's running time will be rewarded with a free Tier 6 playable starship, as well as earn currencies that can be traded in for unique seasonal rewards. Als in previous years, the Star Trek Online Winter Wonderland event takes place in an alternative, winter holiday-themed space run by Q.

This year's event giveaway ship is the Fek'Ihri Vok'Tar Temporal Science Vessel. It's a ship that belongs to the Fek'Ihri, a mysterious alien species strongly associated with myths and stories about Gre'thor - the Klingon version of Hell, where the souls of the dishonored are tormented after death. Like other Fek'Ihri ships, the Vok'Tar churns with the flames of the damned, but because it's a science vessel, the flames are green. Players who log in once a day and participate in at least one Winter Wonderland activity will earn points towards claiming the ship, with roughly 20 days worth of points required to claim the ship at no extra cost.

The minigames players can partake of include snowball fights against living snowmen, a fight in the gingerbread village against the Snow Overlord, a tower defense-style siege by the snow-borg, a PVP footrace over icy terrain, a spot of Klingon ice fishing on a frozen lake, and even a battle against the "Kramp'Ihri," a Fek'Ihri-themed version of the German Krampus demon. Playing earns players various holiday ornaments that can be traded for prizes, including special costumes, new ground and space combat equipment, and cosmetic pets.

New prizes added for 2025's event include new holiday sweaters, including a hoodie based on Star Trek Lower Decks' bone-drinking Moopsy. Players can also pick up the cosmically-empowered Sanctuary Cervidae, based on the deer-like creature seen in Star Trek Discovery's final episode. New ground combat items also add special powers that summon the souls of Gre'thor to trap and dominate foes, while space combat enthusiasts can earn a powerful personal trait that amplifies the damage dealt when players equip energy weapons of different damage types on their vessels.

Star Trek Online is available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. The Winter Wonderland event will run until January 7, 2026.
