During The Game Awards 2025, Arcanaut Studios announced Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic, a "single-player narrative-driven action RPG and spiritual successor to Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic." The game is set to release for PC and unspecified consoles.

StarWars.com has an exclusive interview with Hudson, as well as VP of Lucasfilm Games Douglas Reilly, who discuss the game's inception. In the interview, which says that the game 'will introduce new characters for an all-new story', Hudson states, "We’re still early in development, with many challenges ahead. I’m grateful to have enjoyed the support of KOTOR fans for many years, and I look forward to embarking upon this journey together, sharing more of what we’re doing as soon as we can!”. Reilly adds that "Although Fate of the Old Republic is not a direct sequel or continuation, it is being built by people who helped shape that legacy."
