Elden Ring Tarnished Edition launches on August 28 for Nintendo Switch 2

FromSoftware and Bandai Namco Entertainment have announced that Elden Ring Tarnished Edition will launch on August 28 for Nintendo Switch 2.

Nintendo originally showcased Elden Ring Tarnished Edition for Nintendo Switch 2 as the first third-party game in the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct. As revealed before, this edition includes the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion, as well as new armor and customization options for Torrent. These new options will also be added to existing versions of the game. You can find James' hands-on impressions here.

The new content included will be available on August 28 on other platforms as The Tarnished Pack DLC.

Elden Ring is now available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC (Steam). It launches for Switch 2 on August 28 as Elden Ring Tarnished Edition.

Beginning on 28 August this year, the Lands Between and the Realm of Shadow come to life on the Nintendo Switch 2 in ELDEN RING Tarnished Edition. The open world action RPG from FromSoftware Inc. and Bandai Namco Entertainment Inc. drops players in a vast, dark fantasy world as imagined by Hidetaka Miyazaki, creator of the DARK SOULS video game series, and George R.R. Martin, author of The New York Times’ best-selling fantasy series, “A Song of Ice and Fire.” ELDEN RING Tarnished Edition will include the acclaimed expansion Shadow of the Erdtree, featuring an epic new adventure expanding on the story of the original. The title also features brand new content including two new Starting Classes for players to choose along with new character armor and the ability to customize Torrent, players’ faithful Spectral Steed. ELDEN RING Tarnished Edition is coming 28 August to Nintendo Switch 2, and the new content will also be available to purchase for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, XBOX One, XBOX Series X|S, and PC via Steam.

With ELDEN RING Tarnished Edition, Nintendo players will soon be able to experience the incredible journey to become the Elden Lord. Players will chart their own path in the vast and seamless world of the Lands Between, on foot or riding Torrent, their trusted Spectral Steed.

Also included in ELDEN RING Tarnished Edition is the ELDEN RING Shadow of the Erdtree expansion.  Expanding on the story of the original game, players embark on a new adventure full of mysteries and danger, setting off on a terrifying journey where they will confront threatening bosses and discover new gear, abilities, weapons and armor. Following in the footsteps of Miquella, the once tarnished legions who rose to Elden Lord may now need to leave their grace behind, as they unravel the sinister dark side of the  ELDEN RING story.
