Beast of Reincarnation release date set for August 4
Fictions and Game Freak have announced the full release date for Beast of Reincarnation at the February 2026 State of Play. Soon after the program ended, Fictions also uploaded their own standalone trailer, confirming that Game Freak's action RPG will be available simultaneously worldwide on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam on August 4.
The companies had previously shown the game at Xbox-related events, starting with the initial reveal at the June 2025 Xbox Games Showcase and followed by the January 2026 Xbox Developer Direct. For today's new trailer at Sony's State of Play, they also revealed the game's full release date.

During today’s PlayStation State of Play, Japanese developer Game Freak, in partnership with publisher Fictions, revealed that their anticipated action RPG, Beast of Reincarnation, will launch on August 4, 2026. The title will be available on PlayStation 5, day one on Xbox Game Pass (Series X|S and Windows) and PC via Steam. Players will also be able to purchase the physical version of Beast of Reincarnation for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S day and date.
The release date announcement is accompanied by a new cinematic gameplay trailer that showcases Beast of Reincarnation’s stunning visuals, its deep narrative woven through rich environmental storytelling, and action-packed combat. The year is 4026 AD. In the ruins of post-apocalyptic Japan, a parasitic decay known as the Blight infests the land, transforming all living things into Malefacts. Emma, a survivor shunned as a blightborn, begins her journey alongside Koo, a Malefact, who has retained its soul. Together, they venture to hunt down the Beast of Reincarnation- the primordial source of the Blight.
In a world eroded by the Blight, formidable enemies and the Blighted Forests threaten Emma and Koo. The combat fuses Emma's real-time action with Koo’s turn-based strategy. By defeating foes, Emma and Koo awaken their latent abilities, mastering various styles of combat and techniques.
