Reikon Games is proud to announce the global reveal and trailer for Ruiner 2, a sequel to the cult-classic top-down shooter that evolves the franchise into a ruthless Cyberpunk ARPG. In Ruiner 2, players will return to the city-scape & concrete hunting grounds of Rengkok.
In Ruiner 2, DEATH IS EARNED.
Ruiner 2 welcomes players back to Rengkok. It is a place where corporations don't just control lives - they own the copyright to a person’s death. The inhabitants are trapped in a cycle of servitude where dying is a breach of contract. The system is designed to keep people alive, productive...and suffering. Escape is not an option - it must be taken. To break the chains of this dystopic purgatory, players will have to force the world to let them go.
The only way out is through. From low-level street gangs to the corporate elite, players will be the prey or hunter. Enemies close in from every angle. Stop killing, and you die.
RUINER 2 takes the intense combat of the original Ruiner and expands it into a deep Action RPG experience. The game introduces the “Shell System”, which fundamentally changes how players engage with the genre. Instead of being limited to a single class, players unlock unique characters - called Shells - by defeating bosses.
In single-player mode, players are a one-person army, commanding a roster of up to three Shells simultaneously with the ability to switch between them in real-time and adapt a strategy to the flow of battle. This system enables Synergies, an exciting mechanic that allows players to chain abilities across different Shells to create devastating combos. That's the Shell System's core promise: the right swap at the right moment wins the fight. The same rules apply in co-op, where up to three players each bring their Shells into the fight. More bodies, more synergies, higher stakes.
"We are massive ARPG fans, and Ruiner 2 is the game we've always wanted to play" said Marek Roefler, Game Director. "We built the Shell System because we love theory-crafting and finding broken combinations, but we hated being locked into a single character for a hundred hours. This game is for players who want to experiment, swap builds on the fly, and discover synergies that tear the screen apart.”
Ruiner 2 is currently in development for PC and available for wishlisting.
