Advanced Lord Monarch gets ported to Nintendo Switch via EGG Console

D4 Enterprise is gradually releasing an EGG Console port of Advanced Lord Monarch for Nintendo Switch. It is set to be available on Nintendo eShops worldwide, including in the US storefront at $7.16.

Advanced Lord Monarch originally came out on PC-9801 in October 1991 as the enhanced version of the original Lord Monarch, which appeared earlier in March 1991. Lord Monarch was made by Nihon Falcom, and it is still part of the Dragon Slayer series as the 7th entry, although it is a real-time strategy game as opposed to an RPG. D4 Enterprise had also previously released a Switch port of the original Lord Monarch last September.

You can find the official trailer, descriptions, and screenshots for Advanced Lord Monarch right below.

Cultivate! Build! Merge! Fortify your nation and conquer enemy castles in Falcom's masterpiece RTS. With 52 diverse stages and addictive gameplay centered on occupation rates, this conquest simulation offers a fresh experience every time you play.

Released in 1991 as the seventh entry in Nihon Falcom's Dragon Slayer series, this title is an enhanced version of the real-time simulation game Lord Monarch.

As a king, you must rule your nation and conquer all rival kingdoms. By commanding units to till land, build houses, set up defensive fences, or construct bridges, you strengthen your base while merging units to create powerful armies. Stages are cleared by capturing enemy castles. Post-clear stats like "Occupation Rate" allow for high-score hunting and replayability.

The game features two modes: Normal and Advanced. The highlight, Advanced Mode, introduces sophisticated tactics absent in Normal, such as evasive maneuvers against superior forces and blocking retreat paths during a King's march. Combat efficiency is also factored into the final score, with ranks reaching up to 10th Dan, offering a deep strategic challenge.

The game boasts 104 stages (52 each for Normal and Advanced). As you progress, both difficulty and visual themes—including characters and environments—change to keep the experience fresh. With its rich content and depth, this is a must-play masterpiece for any real-time simulation fan.
