EA cancels The White Council?

Late yesterday, an anonymous source tipped to 1up.com that EA's Lord of the Rings: The White Council had been indefinitely cancelled.

The White Council was unveiled in July as a game that would essentially be the Fable or KotOR of Lord of the Rings. A player fights to save Middle Earth, but not as any character in the original Fellowship.
