Ufotable and Production I.G. to celebrate Tales Of 30th Anniversary with a new concert and anime illustrations

Ufotable has formally revealed their plans to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Tales Of series after publishing a teaser about it last February. The studio made two separate reveals, with the first one being a special anime illustration project and the second one being a live concert in Tokushima, Japan.

The first project will eventually produce a total of 188 new anime-styled illustrations—in both regular and chibi proportions— of characters from all of the franchise's mothership entries. The first two titles that will be featured here are Tales of Phantasia and Tales of Xillia.

Ufotable will not be alone in this project, as Production I.G. will also join the festivities. Akira Matsushima and Tokuyuki Matsutake will be the main illustrators in this project.

The second project is going to be a Machi Asobi Premium Stage concert that will be held at the Aibahama Park Stage in Tokushima on Sunday, May 17, at 18:00 JST. This concert will particularly have a focus on Tales of Zestiria the X, which also happens to have its 10th anniversary fall this year.

This concert will have a band led by Go Shiina, who will also perform on a piano by himself. It will also feature performances by some of the artists who contributed theme songs for the anime show—namely FLOW (Kaze no Uta, BURN, and INNOSENSE), Minami Kuribayashi (2nd opening song illuminate"), and fhána (1st ending song "calling").
