Third and final Early Access update now available for Frosthaven, titled Into The Abyss
Publisher Arc Games and developer Snapshot Games have today released the third and final Early Access content update for Frosthaven, titled Into the Abyss, now available via Steam and Epic Games Store. This follows the first update Awakening Protocol released in October 2025, and the second update Legacy of the Algox released in January 2026.
The Into the Abyss update adds the 'Lurker' storyline set in the Biting Sea, as well as two new playable heroes, alongside several gameplay and quality-of-life adjustments.

Arc Games and Snapshot Games today released Frosthaven's third and final Early Access content update: Into the Abyss. The latest update is available now for players on Steam and Epic Games Store who own the digital adaptation of the critically-acclaimed tactical RPG board game by Isaac Childres and Cephalofair Games. Into the Abyss adds the Lurker storyline set in the depths of the Biting Sea, two playable heroes, one pet, and a suite of highly-requested gameplay and quality-of-life improvements.
From Snapshot Games, led by CEO Julian Gollop – the creator of X-COM – in collaboration with board game creator Isaac Childres and Cephalofair Games, Frosthaven introduces the final Early Access content update before its full release: Into the Abyss. While the outpost’s walls have offered a measure of safety, a new threat now stirs in the depths of the Biting Sea. An ancient and immensely powerful artifact has begun sending visions of unrest, calling out to be found once more. Now, the heroes of Frosthaven must venture both above and below the sea’s dark, icy waters to secure the artifact before it falls into the wrong hands.
Expanding the world of Frosthaven with narrative centered on the mysterious Lurkers, Into the Abyss adds two playable heroes that bring fresh playstyles and tactical depth to party composition for players well into the game:
- “Coral” channels the power of the sea, manipulating tides and battlefield positioning to control encounters and overwhelm enemies.
- "Kelp” lurks in the shadows and specializes in assassinating enemies, collecting trophies from their victims and using them to grow stronger.
