Indie development studio Quickfire Games and publisher Firesquid Games shared a new trailer for their upcoming dark fantasy turn-based tactical RPG game Prelude Dark Pain during the Second Wind Showcase. In this video, the studio offers a deeper look into the lore and heroes of Statera, and showcases some of their strategic sinergies. The game will be released in Early Access this summer.

Meet the Factions

The Blue Nets are led by Duocco, the protagonist’s Soren father-in-law, who are tasked with guarding the seas and southern coastline from bandits. This faction has warriors such as Tammais, a frontline bruiser who is outstanding in either attack or defense; Maya, a skilled archer that can summon magic animals; Urza, a high shaman capable of using powerful support magic, and Rufio, a mighty axe wielder who can slice enemies as well as grapple them towards him.

The Keepers of the Veil are the oldest of the clans, often referred to as Lords of Death; their duty is to protect and fix the veil between realms. Representing this clan, we find the mysterious Sade, a woman of few words, using a cross that allows communication with her divine companion, The Lady of the Cross.

The clan Van Rigmars controls the west of Statera. They are the only clan capable of extracting and mastering blood crystals, relics that hold great magical power. From the Van Rigmars, Gala makes her presence known with a musket in one hand and a whip in the other, while also using blood crystal magic for attack power boosting.

Prelude Dark Pain will launch on Early Access during this Summer on PC via Steam.
