Final Fantasy VII Rebirth demo now available on Nintendo Switch 2 and Xbox

Square Enix will be launching a Final Fantasy VII Rebirth demo for Nintendo Switch 2 and Xbox platforms today.

The demo includes the first two chapters of the game with save data carrying over to the full release. Thanks to Nova Crystallis for the heads up. If you don't see the demo on the web, check on the console eShop. The download size is 45.1GB on Switch 2 and 91.17GB on Xbox Series X.

The Final Fantasy VII Rebirth demo is out now on Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox on PC as part of Xbox Play Anywhere, with save data transfer to the full game which arrives on June 3, 2026!

Preorders are now open with digital bonuses available. Those who preorder the physical Nintendo Switch 2 edition will also get 1x Magic: The Gathering—FINAL FANTASY "Zack Fair" card, featuring a variant art by Tetsuya Nomura.
