Story-driven turn-based RPG Echoes of the Flame announced for PC Steam

Developer Konno Tobari has announced Echoes of the Flame, a story-driven turn-based RPG, in development for PC (Steam) release later this year in Japan and with a planned English localization in 2027.

Work on the English localization will begin after the Japanese launch which is planned for the November - December window. Echoes of the Flame's narrative features alternating chapters with two three member parties travelling from the West and East towards the same destination. Players can collect key words during exploration and unlock additional lore and side stories in the world. The Steam page which just went live today also reveals that Generative AI was used for the following:

Generative AI is used to create base materials for certain image assets, including character portraits, enemies, and UI. These generated images are not used as-is; they undergo manual processing such as retouching or animation before being implemented into the game
