Tactical RPG Calame will launch this year on PC and next year on console

Developer Nextale has announced Calame, a tactical RPG, in development for PC and console release with a demo now available on Steam.

Calame is set to launch later this year on PC with a release for unannounced consoles to follow in 2027. Alongside its announcement and demo release, Nextale has confirmed that Calame will be a part of Steam Next Fest in June. You can wishlist the game here and download the demo here. Independent developer Nextale (formerly Smart Tale) today revealed its new title, Calame, a single-player, isometric, tactical RPG that blends deep, classic strategy with innovative reality-shifting gameplay. The game is set to launch on PC later this year, followed by a console release in 2027. Today’s debut trailer invites players into the world of Westalia, offering a first look at the game's story, gameplay, and unique mechanics. A playable demo is live on Steam now ahead of the game's feature in Steam Next Fest this June.
In the shadow of the King of Light, history is written by the survivors
In Westalia, renown is more than just a story – it is a weapon of mass destruction. When belief in a legend grows strong enough, it can physically reshape the battlefield or devour those who wield it. To overthrow the tyrannical King of Light, the Rebellion must learn to harness this divine force without becoming the very monsters they fight. But how do you save a kingdom when you are tearing yourselves apart?

However, Calame breaks the tactical mold with its groundbreaking "Correction" feature – an innovative new strategy mechanic allowing you to rewrite and manipulate the battlefield mid-combat, turning the terrain itself into a dynamic weapon!
Beyond the battlefield, Calame features deep progression systems including RPG leveling, skill unlocks, and legendary gear collection. Your journey is heavily defined by a reactive choice system.
