Fallout 76 for PS5 and Xbox Series launches this summer

Bethesda has announced that Fallout 76 will launch this summer for PS5 and Xbox Series with open testing beginning this month.

The Fallout 76: Infestations update patch notes also go into the technical details confirming PS5 Pro support and a 60fps target across current consoles with improved draw distance, shadows, and more. You can find the specifications for consoles during the testing period below:

Xbox Series X|S and PS5 Testing Period

We’re excited to announce that during the month of June we will be kicking off public testing of the Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5/Pro versions of the game. Available to everyone who owns Fallout 76, you will be able to download the Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 test versions from the Xbox and PlayStation Stores.

Once testing is completed, we plan on releasing the update later this summer!

Here is a list of features you can expect when playing on your Xbox Series X|S, PS5 and PS5 Pro:

  • Targeted 60 FPS across Xbox Series X|S, PS5 and PS5 Pro.
  • Improved draw distances.
  • Improved shadows.
  • 4K resolution (on compatible displays) on Xbox Series X, Xbox One X, PS5 Pro.
  • VRR (on compatible displays) on Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, PS5, PS5 Pro.
  • PS5 and PS4 Pro will support 1440p while previous generation platforms will continue to support 1080p.
