Today, 2K and Gearbox Software announced the massive Version 1.8 update for Borderlands 4, delivering a huge wave of free and premium endgame content to Kairos, available to players on June 25. Players can charge headlong into all-new narrative content in Bounty Pack 3: A Zane to Kill For and test their mettle against the grueling Takedown at Hadron Abyss.

Version 1.8 also officially rolls out Cross-Platform Saves, letting players seamlessly transfer Vault Hunter adventures across any platform where Borderlands 4 is owned.

Bounty Pack 3: A Zane to Kill For

Bounty Pack 3: A Zane to Kill For delivers all-new narrative content and high-tier gear as the latest piece of premium paid DLC. Beginning with  Bounty Pack 3, there are two distinct parts available for individual purchase: the core narrative expansion, A Zane to Kill For, and Vault Card 3.

In Bounty Pack 3: A Zane to Kill For, Players will journey into a neon-noir arcade game where the Vault Hunters must solve the mystery of who murdered Zane('s Digi-Clone backup). This all-new repeatable mission features a new boss and two new mini-bosses, where players jack into the digital realm for a neon-noir mystery as they chase leads, crack skulls, and close in on the Digi-killer.

Available alongside the story expansion Vault Card 3 lets players earn new arcade-themed rewards, including 24 cosmetic items and four pieces of rerollable gear, through gameplay. More information on the rewards can be found in the blog here.

Free Endgame Raid: Takedown at Hadron Abyss

The Takedown at Hadron Abyss is an upcoming monumental endgame challenge, free for all players. Accessible via any major hub Raid Board after beating the main campaign, this brutal raid sends Vault Hunters into a brand new zone, Hadron Abyss, a secret, fully submerged underwater research station filled with mutated horrors and aquatic apex predators.

Players’ builds and skills will be put to the test as they attempt to navigate the new sprawling area filled with mobs to go toe-to-fin with the final boss, the Child of Terramorphous. Enemies scale dynamically to party size, and players looking to push themselves to the limit can activate Mayhem levels or the one-life Hardcore mode for maximum intensity.

Enticing rewards await, with dedicated drops for both the miniboss and Child of Terramorphous, including one new Pearlescent weapon, nine new pieces of Legendary gear, and five new Class Mods, with a sixth joining this pool in Q3 2026 when the next Vault Hunter arrives in Story Pack 2.

Bounty Pack 4, Story Pack 2, and an All-New Vault Hunter in the Coming Months

Looking ahead at the post-launch roadmap, even more massive drops are on the horizon. On July 30, Bounty Pack 4: Murders & Acquisitions arrives alongside the Version 1.9 update. Then, in early September, Bounty Pack 5 and Story Pack 2 drop, featuring the all-new playable Vault Hunter: Loveless the Hacker, who players received a sneak peek of during the latest DevCast.

Loveless is an ex-Anshin hacker turned assassin. Equipped with the highest-end cybernetics, Loveless also shares her mind with a digital virus of her own creation, which can digistruct into a physical form that acts as a deadly extension of her shared, perfection-seeking will. Stay tuned for more information on Loveless and the upcoming Story Pack 2 in the future!

Players that own Borderlands 4 Super Deluxe Edition are automatically granted access to all of the content from the Bounty Pack Bundle (Bounty Packs 2, 3, 4, and 5) and Vault Hunter Pack(Story Packs 1 and 2), while Borderlands 4 Deluxe Edition grants the Bounty Pack Bundle. Bounty Packs and Story Packs are also available for individual purchase.
