Star Trek Online's Undiscovered content update debuts on July 7, features remade early story missions
The next major content update for Star Trek: Online will launch on July 7, 2026 on PC. Titled Star Trek Online: Undiscovered, the update is the first installment of an ongoing initiative to reimagine and revamp lower-quality missions from early in the game's history.
The first mission to be reintroduced to Star Trek Online is part of "The Ultimate Klingon" storyline, which was present during the game's launch era in 2010, but in 2018 was ultimately removed from the main story progression due to being of low quality compared to more recently produced missions. Unlike its original version, the new mission will feature voiced lines, better visuals and cutscenes, and an updated story.
Titled "The Kuva'magh," the mission involves Lieutenant Miral Paris, the daughter of Star Trek Voyager characters Tom Paris and B'Elanna Torres. Paris is assigned to secure support for a peace deal between the warring Federation and Klingon Empire. However, Miral is famous among Klingons for being the subject of a prophecy, and will need employ the help of her godfather, The Doctor (another Voyager character) to support the negotiations. Actors Lisa Locicero and Robert Picardo will reprise their roles as Miral and The Doctor, respectively.
The introduction of the new mission will also be accompanied by a limited-time event, and participating players will receive a free playable starship, the K'vort Temporal Flight Deck Raptor. The K'vort is based on a Klingon ship seen in both Star Trek The Next Generation and Star Trek Lower Decks, and looks largely like an up-sized Klingon Bird-of-Prey (a.k.a. the B'rel class). However, as a Flight Deck Raptor the K'vort can launch B'rel birds of prey as support craft.
In addition to the new mission, the Star Trek Online: Undiscovered update will also include an overhaul of the in-game Deep Space Encounter system. Deep Space Encounters have been reworked to improve the simplistic "shooting gallery" mission types currently in the game and diversify the types of objectives and enemies that can be found in-system while retaining the encounters' intent of being simple, repeatable micro-missions.
Star Trek Online is available on PC, and the Undiscovered update will go live on July 7, 2026. The PS4 and Xbox One editions will be updated at a later date.
