Tactical RPG Shadow of the Road Reveals November 12th Release Date
The wait is nearly over as today, developers Another Angle Games and publisher Owlcat Games revealed the release date for upcoming tactical RPG Shadow of the Road. Launching November 12th on PC, the game received a dramatic new trailer during GameStar’s Find Your Next Game Show at gamescom.
The main party in Shadow of the Road is a group that’s been brought together by the forces of fate: ex samurai, retainers of the Shogun, and a mysterious child, his mother, and their bodyguard. As the group journeys through war-torn Japan, they encounter all kinds of enemies — bandits, empirial soldiers, and supernatural creatures all doing their best to send the party members to the afterlife. In order to master the game’s tactical combat, players need to carefully build their characters, unlocking and upgrading skills they can then use on the battlefield to turn the tide to their favor or unleash powerful combos. They can also make use of their environment, turning the battlefield itself into a death trap. If things truly become dire, turning into yokai and wreaking havoc on the battlefield is also an option…though, only as a last resort.
