Action RPG Dawngazer announced, led by Unicorn Overlord director Takafumi Noma

Monochrome Corp. and Good Smile Company have announced Dawngazer, an action RPG entry in a new IgniSphere IP. The game is being developed by IgniSphere Studio, which is led by Vanillaware veteran Takafumi Noma, best known as the director of Unicorn Overlord.

Details on the newly announced IP and game are sparse, but today's announcement states the game is planned to release in 2028 for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, & PC, supporting Japanese, English, and Chinese (Traditional & Simplified) languages.

Monochrome Corp. and Good Smile Company, Inc. today announced IgniSphere, an entirely new IP.

The first game set in this world, Dawngazer, is currently in development by IgniSphere Studio, led by Takafumi Noma of Monochrome, with Good Smile Company serving as publisher.

Introducing IgniSphere, a New IP

As it celebrates its 15th anniversary this month, Monochrome has partnered with Good Smile Company to establish IgniSphere, a new IP and fictional universe.

IgniSphere is an entirely original, expansive world woven together by numerous nations and races. It is also the name of the game studio led by creator Takafumi Noma.

Noma has worked as a programmer on numerous successful games. As director of Unicorn Overlord, he was involved in every stage of development, including the story and character design. For IgniSphere, he aims to bring that hands-on approach to building a cohesive, immersive world.

Teaser Video Released as Development Begins on Dawngazer

Monochrome and Good Smile Company have begun joint development of Dawngazer, the first game set in IgniSphere. The title is being developed as an action RPG.

Music by Yoshimi Kudo

Yoshimi Kudo will compose music for the game. The teaser video features a piece composed and arranged by Kudo, whose credits include Unicorn Overlord and Elden Ring. KOCHO, whose credits include vocals for the main theme of the television drama Unnatural, handled vocals and singer coordination.
