Ragnarok Online 2: Legend of the Second Beta Announced

After a rather disappointing beta test this past Winter with SEA Playpark where whomever was running those servers had a fun time making a lot of modifications to the original game that left players with really unbalanced experiences, Gravity Interactive has announced that there will be another beta test for their upcoming hotly-anticipated free-to-play title Ragnarok Online 2: Legend of the Second (deemed as such since their first attempt at making RO2 failed several years ago). Interested parties can join the beta by visiting WarpPortal's dedicated page with the beta to begin next month.

Using many of the same elements and class-based gameplay that the first iteration had, Legend of the Second seeks to only supplant the original look of the game by putting it inside a 3D engine. As much as I would love to say that the "2.5D" look of the original was one of the reason why I fell in love with it, because there were so many clones and the fact that it came out nearly ten years ago, it may be an inevitable decision on Gravity's part. Time will tell whether relying on its strong predecessor will be enough to carry it through to a strong launch.

So how about it? Are you ready to jump back into Ragnarok Online? I miss my Backstab-extraordinaire Rogue so I may give it a go. By the way, I just want to say that at least the soundtrack is incredible, epsecially the intro song. The great Yoko Kanno is an amazing composer!
