Final Fantasy XV to skip TGS 2013

With Tokyo Game Show rapidly approaching many Final Fantasy fans were crossing their fingers that the show would lead to a further information blow-out on Final Fantasy XV - but the game's Director Tetsuya Nomura has now confirmed that no new information will be revealed at Japan's largest trade show.

Speaking on Sony's "Conversations with Creators" series of interviews dedicated to PlayStation developers, picked up by Japanese site FF Reunion, Nomura confirmed that no new information on the game would be presented at Tokyo Game Show later this week and over the course of the weekend.

The full version of his interview with Sony will be published during the show, though, and he predictably hoped fans would "please look forward to it."

Final Fantasy XV, previously known as Versus XIII, was re-revealed at E3 2013 to much fanfare. Since then information has been scant, and fans have suggested that large segments of the E3 reveal were in fact CG-based target renders - suggesting the game still has a way to go.

With the confirmation the game won't be at TGS in any meaningful way, the waiting game continues. In the meantime FF fans can busy themselves with Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy X & X-2 HD Remaster.
