Final Fantasy XI heading to Digital Download

Square Enix has today announced that Final Fantasy XI 2008 Edition will now be available for purchase as a digital download on several digital distribution services.

As of today, European PC owners can download Final Fantasy XI 2008 Edition via several digital sales services such as Metaboli and Virgin Media. Priced at £29.99 in the UK and €39.99 in Europe, the digital download edition includes all the content and features on offer in the retail version of the game, without the hassle of discs and CD keys.

The 2008 edition of the game not only includes the original Final Fantasy XI, but also includes all of the current expansion packs: Rise of the Zilart, Chains of Promanthia, Treasures of Aht Urgan and Wings of the Goddess, giving you five games' worth of content for the price of one.

Final Fantasy XI takes MMO fans into the world of Vana'diel as it recovers from a worldwide war. The game is cross-platform compatible, allowing players on the Xbox 360, PC and Playstation 2 to adventure and save the world together.
