RPG Site at E3 2013 - What to Expect

Hello, RPG Site Readers! It’s rare we start a posting on this site in such a blog-like manner, but we wanted to give you all a heads-up as to what you’ll be able to expect from us out at E3 2013.

We’ve got a home team who’ll keep news locked down and an away team dashing around the show floor at the Los Angeles Convention Center, and between us you can expect a ton of good RPG-focused coverage coming out of the next couple of days.

First off, we figure the twitter-inclined among you may want to follow the folks who are out at the show. Editor in Chief Alex Donaldson can be found @APZonerunner, US Senior Editor Erren Van Duine can be found at @ErrenVanDuine, Zack Reese can be found at - you guessed it - @zackreese, and Kyle Gaddo of our sister site Save/Continue can be found at @kylegaddo.

It goes without saying that you should probably follow the site itself, too - @RPGSite.

Beyond RPG Site, you can expect additional E3 coverage to pop up on SaveContinue.com, NovaCrystallis.com and UFFSite.net, all fellow sites on our network - so be sure to keep those in mind.

We’ve got a bunch of fun stuff lined up at the show, and while we don’t guarantee articles from absolutely everything we see, we wanted to give you a heads up as to what we’re seeing so you know what to keep an eye out for. Time is limited, but we’ll cover everything we can find the time for.

Us, here, tomorrow morning, bleary-eyed.

As ever, our first port of call tomorrow morning will be the Microsoft Press Conference, which will at the very least likely feature a glimpse at Fable’s Xbox 360 HD do-over, but may well feature other RPGs for both the Xbox 360 and Xbox One as well.

From there we’ll head across LA to see EA’s offerings - and specifically find out if Bioware’s Dragon Age III: Inquisition silence is due to end. We'll then drag ourselves a few blocks towards Ubisoft, though we’re not sure if there’ll be much for this site there.

We'll then finish the day off at Sony where we’re hoping to hear about the Vita becoming an ever-improving JRPG powerhouse, continuing PS3 developments and RPGs for the PS4. On top of all that, we suspect at some point tomorrow we’ll hear more on Square Enix’s plans for Final Fantasy, as promised at the PS4 reveal back in February.

Tuesday sees the start of the show proper, though it doesn’t open until 12. At 9am sharp we’re heading to a special Square Enix event where the company promises they’ll show off the future of the Final Fantasy franchise. Shinji Hashimoto - the man who delivered the cryptic message at Sony’s PS4 reveal -will be in attendance.

We'll experience Lightning's Return first-hand, and interview its boss-man.

After that it’s a quick hop over to the convention center for Nintendo’s pre-show event. We’ll get to go hands-on with Wind Waker HD at the least, and we’re crossing our fingers for even more RPGs for 3DS and Wii U from the company.

Throughout the show we’ve got a calendar packed with appointments that you’ll see transpire in content on the site. During the show we’ll be visiting pretty much everyone you could name - CD Projekt RED, Square Enix, XSEED, Nippon Ichi, Sony, Nintendo, Bethesda, Tecmo Koei, Trion - the list goes on and on.

We’re even being sure to see those who aren’t listing RPGs for the show prior, such as Capcom, in case of surprise announcements.

We’ve also got interviews lined up for some of the key big RPGs - so you can look forward to that.
Is there anything in particular you’d like us to focus on? What would you like us to see first? Let us know below, and we’ll do our best to accommodate!
