Etrian Mystery Dungeon introduces the Gunner class

Atlus has revealed info about the Gunner class in Etrian Mystery Dungeon, the crossover roguelike dungeon crawler that blends the world of Etrian Odyssey and the style Mystery Dungeon. We have the media and Atlus's commentary in full below, including screenshots and video clips.

We also have media for the Medic and Runemaster classes as well, catching up from updates in previous weeks, so check those out too. Etrian Mystery Dungeon is set to release on Nintendo 3DS in North America on April 7th.

Runemaster

Is there anything better than roasting your enemies by hurling giant balls of fire at them? Or calling down a deadly maelstrom to zap your enemies into oblivion? Maybe you're the type who likes to impale enemies on deadly lances made of ice? Yep, that's probably the right one. Lances made of ice. Ice lances.

Well then Etrian Mystery Dungeon's Runemaster has your name written all over it! This staff-wielding master of elements is a walking force of nature, throwing out direct damage elemental attacks or summoning powerful AoE spells, the Runemaster is a potent damage dealer. Just remember to bring a Protector along, because a Runemaster won't last long if an enemy is whaling on it.

Medic

Deciding to take the Medic along with you in Etrian Mystery Dungeon? Good, first smart decision you've made all day. Know what wasn't smart? Putting your Runemaster up against a Furyhorn because you thought "he could take it." Now we're minus one gunner and you've left me with the option of either healing the Protector to keep them alive so the roomful of enemies stays off the rest of the party or unbinding and de-poisoning the Landsknecht so we can possibly kill an enemy and live to see tomorrow.

The Medic's party role in Etrian Mystery Dungeon is constantly filled with life or death decisions, so do your best to make it easier on them by being a conscientious explorer. Yes, they can revive and heal your party members. And yes, they can even do some neat attacks of their own. But this does not mean you can toss people around just because you have a Medic. Keep your Runemasters in back, keep your Landsknechts up front, and pray that the Protector still has enough TP to provoke enemies.

Gunner

When on battlefield, you will once in while find comrade who never turns back on ally. The type of comrade who look Bloodbear straight in eye and not blink. The type of comrade who solves problem using 4.3kg of gun.

In Etrian Mystery Dungeon, that comrade is Gunner. Holding rifle since in diapers, glorious Gunner comrades are masters of ranged combat. With ability to bind specific enemy body parts, much like legs to stop walking, or arms to stop the hurting, these are good comrade to have. Just keep hands off gun. Is like Gunner baby. Baby that do incredible amounts of damage to the faces of enemies.
