Get to know Oscar and Teresa in Tales of Berseria

In the two latest blog posts for Tales of Berseria, Bandai Namco shared details on the two newest characters for Tales of Berseria, Oscar Dragonia and Teresa Linares. We also get to know the lizard daemon Dyle.

Check out all of the (spliced in) details along with dozens of new screenshots in the gallery below.

Oscar is a strong praetor exorcist who fights against Velvet as she tries to flee from Titania, the prison island.

Teresa is the praetor exorcist who governs Hellawes, the north town in Midgand Holy Empire. She calls Laphicet “Number Two” and has tethered him to use his Malak artes.

Oscar Dragonia and Teresa Linares are both praetors of the Abbey, the organization of exorcists. Oscar is serious in his work but he shows great hostility towards daemons. His elder half-sister Teresa is called the ‘Frozen Queen’ because she carries out her duties without emotion.

Velvet will also come across a lizard daemon named Dyle as the story kicks off. He’s going to be really helpful as she tried to break out from the prison island Titania. He was a member of the shipping guild – but he transgressed and experienced the onset of daemonblight. He is now being chased by the Abbey.

Mystic Artes

Mystic Arte are back in Tales of Berseria! Mystic Arte are strong special attacks to be executed by consuming Blast Gauge (introduced in a previous article). A player can deal high damage to an enemy which play out with a cool animation to show off this powerful Mystic Arte!

A player can strengthen a character to activate new and hidden skills as the game progresses.

There are lots of different effects that skills can have on a character and two key ways to activate them; the first way is to activate equipment skills and the second is to activate skills that belong to titles.

New combat moves and skills will be featured in Tales of Berseria – with a new attack type included in the Liberation-LMBS (Linear Motion Battle System). ‘Mystic Artes’ are powerful special attacks that cause huge damage to enemies with an impressive cut-in animation.

Players can also strengthen a character to activate new and hidden skills as the game progresses. There are lots of different effects that skills can have on a character, with three types of equipment skills that can be activated: the ‘Master Skill’, the ‘Enhancing Bonus’ and the ‘Random Skill’.

Tales of Berseria is set to be released on August 18th in Japan for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3. It will arrive early 2017 in North America and Europe for the PlayStation 4 and PC.
