PS4 Pro's launch line up includes a handful of titles for RPG fans
Sony has today confirmed the official launch line-up of games that'll be compatible with their new PlayStation 4 Pro hardware on launch day - November 10th. The line-up includes a handful of titles for RPG fans - so we figured it'd only be right to post them, given what this website is about and all.
The PS4 Pro titles include a number of full-on RPGs including two Elder Scrolls titles and one much older release. Also included is XCOM 2, which isn't really an RPG but we think has enough RPG elements to be considered by RPG fans - so much so that we reviewed it and made a case for why people should play it.
If you've missed all the fuss over the last couple of months, the PS4 Pro is an all-new PS4 console that packs in extra power and the ability to output visuals at a 4K resolution. It also supports HDR color range, which can have a big impact on how games look.
Here's the list of RPGs that you'll be able to play on PS4 Pro and see upscaled to or run natively at 4K and with HDR as of November 10th:
- Deus Ex: Mankind Divided
- Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor
- The Elders Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited
- The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition
- XCOM 2
This list will be supplemented in a month's time by Final Fantasy XV, which will ship with a PS4 Pro compatible mode as standard. The next big RPGs will be the excellent looking Horizon: Zero Dawn and Koei Tecmo's Nioh in February and at some point early in 2016 Mass Effect: Andromeda.
