Final Fantasy XIV is preparing to leave the Alpha phase of testing and head on into Beta, where more people will be allowed to play the game and more areas will open up - and Square Enix Japan have released a bunch of screenshots of the Beta version to show what it's going to be like when it launches.

The Final Fantasy XIV Alpha has gone on longer than expected after initial problems, but it seems the team at Square Enix are finally almost ready to flick the switch into a full-on beta test with many more users.
