A new Sakura Wars game is in development

Sakura Wars fans, your time has come! During the Sega Fes 2018 festivities, Sega announced they are working on a brand new entry in the Sakura Wars franchise (otherwise known as Sakura Taisen). unfortunately, release window or platforms were shared during the presentation.

Actually, all we received was an announcement image teaser. However, it was revealed later on the official website that the game will be set in the imperial capital of Tokyo in an alternate period of Taisho 29, which would be around the year 1941. This will set it shortly after the events of Sakura Wars: So Long, My Love, which was ironically the only Sakura Wars game the west ever received when it was brought over by NIS America for the PlayStation 2 and Nintendo Wii. Maybe they're thinking about localizing it? Maybe this is incredibly wishful thinking? Either way, those who played that entry will be familiar with how things left off.

Stay tuned to RPG Site where we'll share more details about the upcoming Sakura Wars title as soon as they're made available!
