Nippon Ichi loses money, cancels games

Nippon Ichi had a pretty rough time of it in the recent financial results that landed over the last few weeks, and last week to counter that bad news they announced that they're cancelling 3 games to help shore up the money lost on poor-performing releases.

The first quarter earnings of the company show an operating loss of 15 million yen, despite releasing a bunch of titles in that period including Sakura Wars: So Long My Love, Trinity Universe and What Did I Do To Deserve This, My Lord, which was previously known as Holy Invasion of Privacy, Badman.

The three games that were cancelled have been in development for around a year, and cancelling them will lose the company a further 21 million yen - but will hopefully save more in the long run.

Nippon Ichi still has a bunch of games coming, and we're assured that a new entry in the Disgaea series will be rearing its head sometime soon - probably at TGS - so stick with us for that news.
