Ubisoft has posted the first in a series of developer diary videos for Assassin's Creed Odyssey, discussing how the series has recently shifted to contain more RPG mechanics. Assassin's Creed Odyssey takes these a step further than last year's Origins, with dialogue trees being a key new component in the franchise. Odyssey seems to be placing emphasis on player choice and consequence in how the game's various quests proceed throughout the story.
We at RPG Site began covering the franchise with Origins as the developer leaned closer to the RPG genre. Narrative Creative Director Melissa Maccoubrey, Creative Director Jonathan Dumont, and Game Director Scott Phillips discuss these aspects in the video below.
Assassin's Creed Odyssey will be released on October 5 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
