Shin Megami Tensei if... receives an English fan translation

Aeon Genesis has announced they have released a complete English fan translation for  Shin Megami Tensei if...

Originally released for the Super Famicom (Super Nintendo) way back on October 28, 1994, the title remained one of the few landmark entries in the series (outside of several spin-offs) yet to receive any sort of localization.

The effort by Aeon Genesis (more specifically, Gideon Zhi) to translate the game into English began way back at the turn of the millennium, with an early alpha release dropping on December 4, 2002.

As one can tell from the v1.00 announcement post, it's been quite the journey:

It´s been a long road, but today AGTP releases a complete translation for Shin Megami Tensei if... on the Super Nintendo/Super Famicom. For me personally this journey has encompassed a second undergraduate degree, a cross-country move, a complete career change, multiple periods of both employment and unemployment, the licensure of one of our translation patches, and the beginnings of a family, in addition to having to deal with several project-related IRC and Discord raids, hate speech, and generalized harassment from the SMT community at large.

It´s done, and I *will* maintain the patch should anyone find any bugs or typos. But that´s it.

Be sure to visit the official translation page for a guide on how to patch the game.
