Final Fantasy IV Complete Collection gets EU Release Date, Special Edition

Square Enix Europe have just announced the release date for the PSP-based Final Fantasy IV enhanced port Final Fantasy IV: The Complete Collection in Europe, confirming the game will be available in stores across European territories on April 22nd, 2011.

In addition to the release date, Square Enix also confirmed that Final Fantasy IV: The Complete Collection will get a special edition in Europe featuring a number of exclusive items packed in as well as the game, including Art Cards featuring artwork from Final Fantasy IV and its sequel The After Years and a screen-cleaning cloth with artwork of Cecil from Final Fantasy IV on it.

It all comes packaged in a snazzy-looking box and also includes special downloadable content which can be used in Dissidia 012 [duodecim] Final Fantasy. Square Enix tell us this content will be announced "at a later date", but we're pretty sure in saying it'll be new costumes for the Final Fantasy IV characters in the game - or possibly a non-playable assist character of another member of the Final Fantasy IV cast.

The best news of all for fans is that the special edition will cost no extra, being a free upgrade for those who preorder the game or purchase it on day-one. The first run of Final Fantasy IV: The Complete Collection at all EU retailers will be this version.

FInal Fantasy IV: The Complete Collection is an enhanced PSP port of Final Fantasy IV featuring remastered music, graphics and CGI cutscenes as well as the Final Fantasy IV sequel The After Years packaged together on one disc.
