The Witcher series has topped 50 million copies sold
Along with its financial results for Q1 2020, CD Projekt has announced that sales for The Witcher series as a whole have surpassed 50 million total units sold.
A recent management board report estimated that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has sold about 28 million copies since its launch in May 2015, which then puts the combined sales of The Witcher and The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings at an estimated 22 million units.
For some perspective on these sales, the combined sales of The Witcher and The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kingswere at around 8 million before the launch of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
The rest of CD Projekt's Q1 2020 Report indicates sales revenues are up compared to the same period last year, due to continuing sales of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and its expansions, as well as success from GWENT: The Witcher Card Game & Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales, the performance of GOG.com, and CD Projekt's online store.
CD Projekt's next RPG is Cyberpunk 2077, set to release in September 2020.
