Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak Roadmap: every update and addition upcoming

You've done it - you cleared through Master Rank, crafted all the weapons you were interested in and defeated the (current) final boss of Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak. But as we all know, the credits rolling for the first time is traditionally only just the beginning of things in Monster Hunter - and Sunbreak is no different. There's always a hefty update roadmap for upcoming updates and additions to the game.

In its current state, it's fair to say that the existing, launch endgame of MH Rise Sunbreak is a little anemic - but the good news is you won't have to wait for long for it to be buffed out with more stuff. While it's in a better state than the base MH Rise was at launch, Sunbreak is still going to be getting many more updates in the months to come.

Capcom is planning plenty of additional content, following up on the similarly impressive effort that the company made with Monster Hunter World and its expansion, Iceborne - support which won it an RPG Site award for being the best ongoing game of 2020. MH Rise Sunbreak now appears to be gunning for that title in 2022.

Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak's roadmap, per August 2022.

Monster Hunter Rise roadmap: what updates are coming?

As of right now - July 5th, 2022, Capcom has announced (at least) 5 major Title Updates for Monster Hunter Rise. The first Title Update will release on August 10th. Title Update 2 will release later in Late September, with Title Update 3 in the Winter. Multiple Title Updates are also planned for 2023.

Compared to the support that Monster Hunter Rise's basegame received, this is already a night-and-day difference - so let's take a look at what we can expect in the year to come.

What's Coming in Title Update 1 for MH Rise Sunbreak?

Title Update 1 comes with 4 new monsters - Lucent Nargacuga, Seething Bazelgeuse, Gold Rathian and Silver Rathalos. Additionally, a slew of monsters are having their Afflicted versions added to the game alongside a new A5* quest ranking. Finally, the endgame is seeing a bit of an overhaul with Anomaly Investigations and Qurious Crafting - allowing for players to further augment weapons and armor through challenging increasingly difficult quests.

What's Coming in Title Update 2 for MH Rise Sunbreak?

Capcom has revealed scant information about what's to come with Title Update 2, other than the fact that players can also expect "Rare Species & Subspecies monsters" to be added to the game. They also state that Powered-up Monsters will be added with this update, and a safe bet is that this means that players will have access to more Anomaly Monsters upon its Fall release. Anomaly Lunagaron is basically already complete in the current game, so it would be weird if it wasn't properly added with this update.

What's Coming in Title Update 3 for MH Rise Sunbreak?

All we have to go on for Title Update 3 is that we'll be seeing "Several monsters" added to the game, including "Special Species" and Powered-up Monsters. It's hard to say exactly what that means besides likely more Anomaly Monsters, so we'll have to wait and see to find out.

What's Coming in 2023 for MH Rise Sunbreak?

Besides being told to expect multiple Title Updates in 2023, we don't actually have any information to go off of; truthfully, Capcom probably doesn't fully know what they'll include at this point, either. By the time that Title Update 2 or 3 is out we'll likely have a better idea of what to expect, but for now it's entirely a mystery.
