Pokemon Sword & Shield: how to get Alola Pokemon in Isle of Armor including Alolan Raichu, Exeggutor and starters

The Isle of Armor expansion DLC for Pokemon Sword & Shield adds a lot to the experience in Sword & Shield, but one of the most anticipated new features is one of the most simple: the DLC brings a boat load of new Pokemon to the Galar Region via the new Wild Area style Isle of Armor area.

The returning Pokemon additions include the much-loved Alolan Forms of Pokemon introduced in Pokemon Sun & Moon - including stand-outs Alolan Raichu and Alolan Exeggutor alongside the likes of Meowth, Vulpix, Sandshrew and Marowak.

One of the new Pokemon you'll first encounter in the area in a little scripted scene is Alolan Diglett - a Diglett with those cute little tufts of hair. It turns out a trainer bought 150 of them back from Pokemon Sun & Moon's Alola region... and then they got loose on the Isle of Armor.

This is the main collectable in Isle of Armor - finding Alolan Diglett around the island. This is a boring task, and sometimes frustrating - but it has great rewards.

Finding Alolan Diglett around the Isle of Armor will reward you with other Alolan form Pokemon. This, of course, is quite different to how you get the other returning Pokemon like Porygon and its evolutions.

How to get Alolan Regional Pokemon in Sword & Shield Isle of Armor

This is how you get then Alolan forms, and in the case of Slowpoke, the original Kanto form of the Pokemon - by finding Diglett and then returning to the hiking man responsible for these tunelling terrors.

Diglett are found around the island by searching on the ground for the tell-tale tufts of hair. 'Talk' to the hair to reveal and find each one.

At certain Diglett tracking milestones, he'll reward you with regional forms of Pokemon including Alolan Raichu, Alolan Marowak, Alolan Exeggutor and even the Alola region starter Pokemon - Rowlet, Litten and Popplio. Here's when each is handed over:
