Persona 3 Reload: Akinari Kamiki (Sun) social link choices & unlock guide

There are many great storylines in the Persona series, but it's fair to say that Persona 3 Reload is home to one of the most memorable - that told in the Akinari Kamiki social link. This one is just... it's really good, y'know? Social Links are generally optional, but this is one of them you don't want to miss - and this Akinari S-Link guide for Reload will give you all the dialogue choices to help you see the whole story in a timely fashion.

The social link with Akinari is of course present in all the various releases of Persona 3 that are available, but the dialogue options and their rewards differ slightly differently between the games. Akinari S-Link Guide - Sun (Persona 3 Reload)

When hanging out with a social link, you're actually raising a hidden stat - we'll call them Affection Points - which controls when each S-Link levels up. In that sense, this story mechanic is also undoubtedly an RPG mechanic. Dialogue choices during hangouts matter too - as saying the right thing grants bonus Affection Points, hwhich in turn leads to you being able to level up more quickly. This page features all dialogue choices that you'll need in order to breeze through every rank of the Akinari social link while extracting the maximum benefit from each hangout.

This guide should be spoiler-free. Also, it's worth pointing out that the point totals listed next to answers on this page include the Arcana Bonus, which means they only match what you get when you have a Sun Arcana Persona with you when hanging out with Akinari. If you don't have a Sun Persona in your current stock, your gains will bs slightly reduced - so keep that in mind, and maybe pop to the Velvet Room to change your stock.

Key Information about Akinari Kamiki

  • Prerequisite: August 9th, Have seen Hangman's Social Link up to rank 3.
  • Available Days: Sundays
  • Location: Naganaki Shrine
  • Possible Love Interest: No
  • Max Social Link Persona: Asura
Akinari's Social Link starts a bit late, but it's relatively easy to rank up. However, one challenge is that similar to the Hermit's Social Link, Akinari is only available on Sundays. For a Max Social Link run, it is highly recommended to prioritize Akinari's Social Link over others due to his limited availability. For this reason, you want to get the Hermit's Social Link maxed out early so that her social link doesn't interfere with this one.

Social Link Choices

Unlock / Rank 1

To unlock Akinari's Social Link, you must first reach rank 3 in the Hanged Man Social Link. During this event, Maiko will introduce you to one of her friends, Akinari. Following this encounter, you will need to wait until August 9th to meet him again.

Upon meeting him on August 9th at Naganaki Shrine, Akinari will mention losing his red fountain pen. After this conversation, head to the dorm and talk to Koromaru, who has the missing pen. Return the pen to Akinari to initiate the Social Link.
