Episode 1: Turnabout Countdown walkthrough

After the explosive animated prologue, you begin your first case with new girl Athena Cykes. Can you solve the case of the courtroom bombing and defend a dear friend?

As with other first episodes in the series, you’re going straight to trial.

Episode 1: Trial Day 1

Here are all the choices you’ll need to make in the Trial phase and Witness Cross-Examinations:

Following the opening statements, you’ll gain some new evidence for the Court Record: Arme’s Autopsy Report, and Stuffed Animal Bomb.

Following the animated cutscene, you’ll get some backup, and the Trial will begin in earnest.

  • You’ll be given an option to go through a cross-examination tutorial. Take it if you want a quick refresher.
  • One new feature in Dual Destinies is the ability to “Consult” with your partner for a hint as to what to do if you’ve failed multiple times in a row. You shouldn’t need it if you’re following this guide, but it’s something worth using if you’re stumped.

The key is to Pinpoint the inconsistent emotions associated with a statement. and clear up the “noise” level in their testimony. In other words, it’s like a twist on the standard “Press” mechanic, where you refine a witness’ statements to find openings.
