Pokemon Legends: Z-A - How to Catch Eternal Flower Floette
If there was one question I'm sure plenty of fans had on their mind in the lead-up to Pokemon Legends: Z-A, it was probably about Eternal Flower Floette. While most players were likely never aware, as far back as Pokemon X and Y it was clear that Game Freak had at least some intention to make AZ's beloved Floette catchable in-game. Yet, despite working data, they never officially released the Pokemon. That is, until now - with Z-A, players finally have an official, sanctioned method to capture Eternal Flower Floette, though unsurprisingly the process is a bit long. From here on out, we'll be going over some spoilers for Pokemon Legends: Z-A's story and postgame.
How to catch Eternal Flower Floette
During the course of the story, AZ entrusts his Floette to your partner - and once the credits roll, they'll still be within their care. Yet, eagle-eyed players might have noticed a conspicuous blank section of their Mega Evolution Pokedex, implying that Floette can eventually wind up in your care. This is indeed the case, though you're going to have to put some extra legwork into the game that won't immediately be obvious.
The Infinite Z-A Royale

By and large the most important aspect of Z-A's post game is the Infinite Z-A Royale. This allows you to continuously challenge Reward Matches after gathering enough points for Challenger Tickets. While the challengers you'll face are randomized eventually, that's not actually the case for the first 15 Reward Matches. Your 15th Reward Match indeed will be against your rival, with Floette as their ace - and is preempted by a short scene. Directly following the battle, another scene will play that reveals a few elements of their character and ties a bow on their story.

As a direct result of the revelations, they decide they won't have the time to be the trainer that Floette deserves, and per AZ's wishes will hand them over to you instead. Floette joins your party at level 72, comes with its Mega Stone, and taking a peek at its summary will reveal their original trainer - AZ, with the Trainer ID of 000001.
Unlike a normal Floette, this special Floette has drastically improved stats even before Mega Evolution. It also has exclusive access to the move Light of Ruin, a Fairy-type attack that deals 140 Special damage, albeit with recoil applied to Floette. While this is likely to be one of the last things a player will unlock in Z-A, chances are there's still plenty to see and do in Lumiose, along with the city's oldest resident's former partner. Enjoy your vacation with your new friend!
