Octopath Traveler 0: Where to find the missing books for the Side-Story Books Overdue

After completing Bestower of Fame chapter 2 in Octopath Traveler 0, you should unlock the quest Books Overdue from the librarian in Atlasdam. This works like any other quest in the game, but unlike most quests, no marker points you precisely where you need to go. That's where this guide page comes in.

This is a simple quest if you know where to look. You simply need to gather three different book key items and return them to the Atlasdam librarian. One is in Sufrataljah, one is in the Donescu area, and one is in Berecain. We give details in the list below.

At this point in the game, you may not have traveled to Berecain yet. It is found in the far SE corner of the map, beyond the Valley of Death and Berecain Pass explorable areas. The town doesn't become path-action-able until Bestower of Fame Chapter 3, but you can collect the Healing Hot Springs as soon as you accept the quest.

Your reward for completing the quest is 16000 leaves, a Librarian's Amulet, and a Fame rank up. The Librarian's Amulet is actually a pretty good accessory for healers or anyone who uses a lot of SP frequently, and it gives a whopping +120 SP to the character, as well as +120 Elemental Defense.
