Granblue Fantasy: Relink - Endless Ragnarok - how does Weapon Transcendence work and all Swappable Traits
One of the brand-new systems introduced in Granblue Fantasy: Relink - Endless Ragnarok is Weapon Transcendence. The existing playable characters, aside from the three characters added after the original Relink came out (Seofon/Tweyen/Sandalphon), don't have any new weapons added to their arsenal, but every single one of their weapons can now be upgraded to become even more powerful through Weapon Transcendence.
Although Weapon Transcendence works similarly to Awakening by each level of Transcendence consuming materials earned from the new Fatebeaker-grade quests or the new Conflux roguelite mode, Weapon Transcendence has a special new feature that weapons didn't have before - the ability to swap out some of their Traits for new ones.
When you transcend a weapon for the first time, they'll earn a special trait exclusive to that type of weapon. For instance, Defender Weapons will earn the new DMG Cap Ecru Trait that's exclusive to them. Transcending a weapon also adds new stat nodes in the Weapon Collection tab on the Masteries screen.
Note that there are some characters that do not have all of the weapon types available to them. The following characters do not have Executioner and Stunner-type Weapons available to them.

When a weapon is transcended, there are 4 Slots for Traits, but not all of them can be swapped out. Some of them are fixed and cannot be swapped, but the levels of the Traits in each slot will gradually level up as you transcend a weapon more. In most cases, Slot II & Slot IV are the ones that can be swapped out for a different trait, but each weapon type only has its own specific pool of Traits that are swappable.
Slotting a Trait into Slot II or Slot IV matters as well, because the max level of the Trait is higher in Slot II than it is in Slot IV. For instance, a HP Trait in Slot II will give more HP than being put into Slot IV because Slot II's can go up to level 25, while Slot IV can only go up to level 10.
Once you've fully leveled a Weapon Transcendence to its Max Lvl 7, another special fully-leveled Trait will be added to its newly added Slot EX.
A fully transcended weapon will also apply special aesthetic weapon effects on the weapon itself that only alters its look and nothing else.
