Chronos: Before the Ashes announced for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC, and Stadia; set to release on December 1

THQ Nordic and Gunfire Games have announced Chronos: Before the Ashes, an atmospheric RPG set to release for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC, and Stadia on December 1.

Chronos: Before the Ashes is based on the 2016-release VR game Chronos from Gunfire Games before the studio was acquired by THQ Nordic. The game has been overhauled and optimized for current platforms without the need for VR support.

Chronos: Before the Ashes is a prequel story to Remnant: From the Ashes where the player jumps into the shoes of a young hero trying to save his home from an ancient evil. It takes place in a mysterious labyrinth and action-based combat is done in real-time. The game has a failure mechanic where every time the player falls in battle, the player character will age one year. At the onset of the game you are young and nimble, but later, you'll become more adept with magical abilities as you wisen.
