The Outer Worlds arrives on Steam October 23

The Outer Worlds, the newest RPG from Obsidian Entertainment, will finally arrive on Steam in just a few weeks on October 23, it has been confirmed.

The Outer Worlds is a first-person sci-fi action RPG heavily inspired by the Bethesda-era Fallout games - and in many ways is a spiritual successor to Obsidian's work on Fallout: New Vegas. It's  published by 2K's indie label Private Division, and was in development at Obsidian Entertainment before the company was purchased by Microsoft to become part of Xbox Game Studios.

It released this time last year, arriving on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC - but the PC version skipped steam. Originally an Epic Games Store exclusive, it also arrived on Windows Store and Xbox Games Pass for PC thanks to Obsidian becoming part of Microsoft. Earlier this year, a Nintendo Switch port of the first-person sci-fi action RPG also released.

We found the game to have some lacklustre presentation, but plenty of the Obsidian charm that has made that studio's past RPG works so beloved.

If you want to nab the game on Steam, its Steam Page is now available.
