NEO: The World Ends With You launches for PlayStation 4 and Switch in Summer 2021

Square Enix has revealed NEO: The World Ends With You, a new action RPG that will be released for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch worldwide. This is also the long-awaited sequel to The World Ends With You (which was also ported to the Switch as Final Remix) that was last teased by Tetsuya Nomura in September 2018.

While the first game was made in 2D, NEO will have 3D battles and explorations that take place in Shibuya, Tokyo. The game will reproduce the district's famous spots, from the Shibuya Crossing to the Tower Records store.

NEO will also feature a new cast of characters. The player will assume the role of a new protagonist named Rindo, who is voiced in Japanese by Yuma Uchida. He will be accompanied by more playable characters such as Fret (voiced by Chiharu Sawashiro), Nagi (Mina Katahira), and the returning Minamimoto (Takayuki Fujimoto).

The official announcement trailer is also available on Square Enix's English YouTube channel, although it's only shown with Japanese voiceovers for the time being. You can watch it right below:
